Since joining the Bentz Group in 1997, Karen has directed capital and endowment campaigns and conducted many pre-campaign studies. In addition, she has extensive experience in writing foundation and corporate proposals. After earning a bachelor of music degree from Baylor University, Karen did both management and production work for the Central City (Colorado) Opera and the San Diego Opera. She began her development career in 1990 with the Cedar Rapids Symphony Orchestra, and also served as director of corporate and foundation relations for Trinity International University on Chicago’s North Shore, as well as director of development for the American Red Cross in Mason City, Iowa.
