The Bentz Group is pleased to announce that Charles F. Bryan, Jr., Ph.D., (see profile) President and CEO of the Virginia Historical Society, has joined the firm in an of counsel capacity. In 1989, Charles H. Bentz, firm founder and chairman, met Dr. Bryan who was, at that time, one year into his tenure. Together, they embarked on the Society’s first major fundraising campaign that successfully raised more than $12 million.

 

“Simply put, Chuck Bentz and his firm led the Virginia Historical Society in its first strategic fundraising endeavor – that initial success almost two decades ago served as the catalyst for all of the Society’s subsequent fundraising. It taught us how to incorporate fundraising into our organization and it certainly allowed me to become a more effective non-profit executive,” notes Dr. Bryan. “In joining the Bentz Group, I will be able to share my experience with other organizations around the country–a very exciting prospect.”
